We had a really productive residency working alongside Aidan O'Rourke (LAU) who has been mentoring on the project. Three intense January days (yes it was cold) of rehearsing, writing and keeping warm in the Britten Studio at Snape Maltings proved to be exactly what the piece and the ensemble needed to knock larger sections of the (eventually) hour-long 'Loom' together. Tim Southorn and Joe Acheson getting a chance to play around with the ambisonic ideas we're heading towards for February's Open Session was a lot of fun!
